CIS District Issued Mobile Device Information

Please review the following orientation videos regarding district-issued Chromebooks.

When a parent chooses to allow their child to use the internet and/or receive a district-issued device , you are agreeing to the following:

Please review these documents with your child to make sure the expectations for internet/Chromebook use are clear. Parents make this choice when filling out Registration Gateway before school starts each school year. 

Chromebook Issues?  

Students and parents can now troubleshoot and work to solve many tech issues independently thanks to the D5 Student Self Help Service Portal. This interactive form will help you troubleshooting basic issues.

The CIS Tech Desk is open every day from 7:05-7:35. Students should take their device to the Tech Desk as soon an issue occurs.

Chromebook Reminders:  

  • Find a central location in your home to charge the Chromebook each night. Students should bring their fully charged device to school daily. Chargers remain at home.

  • Playing games on the Chromebook depletes the battery. Please encourage your student not to play games before school as to preserve the battery life for the school day. Students should not play games during school hours.

  • The CIS Tech Desk will be open daily from 7:05 until 7:35 in rm D111 on the main hallway.  Devices with issues should be taken to the tech desk as soon as possible.

  • Chromebooks should remain in their case at all times. Your child will keep this same device until the beginning of 9th grade, so please take precautions to keep the device in working order.

  • We have a filter to block access to unwanted content. New sites are being created all the time, so it is impossible for us to block everything. If you hear of a particular site or issue that needs to be addressed, please contact me so I can look into the situation.
