23-24 CAR LINE PROCEDURES

Morning drop off - We encourage parents to drop off as early as 7:00 a.m. as we have less traffic during the earliest portions of our drop-off window.

Parents wishing to walk their students to the CIS doors should follow the traffic flow all the way around the car line and then use the visitor spots at the front of the school. Parents should not drop off students in other parking spaces and then walk students through traffic lanes to the front of the school as this presents a safety hazard for students and staff. The designated visitor parking spaces are the only place to park when dropping off students.

Afternoon pick up -  We will begin dismissal at 2:30.

TRAFFIC FLOW

● Parents with students at CIS only or CES and CIS should enter the CIS campus from Old Lexington Hwy and follow the blue line on the pavement and then take the right turn that goes to CES. Here, the lanes will split into 2 lines. The outside lane (right side) is for parents/guardians with CES students and the left inside lane is for parents/guardians dropping off CIS students only. These lanes will merge just past CES and continue back to CIS. Parents should only drop off at CIS in the designated drop off area which is between the music suite entrance (near the playground) and the end of the awning at the front of the school. Please follow the directions of the adult on duty in the car line, and pull as far forward as possible before dropping off your child. After drop-off, parents should then move to the exit at Old Lexington Hwy. There is no left turn onto Old Lexington between 7AM - 8AM and 2PM - 3PM. For afternoon pick up, please follow the same flow as in the morning.

Cars are expected to pull up as far forward as is possible and to have students walk to the vehicle on the sidewalk. No students may be picked up or dropped off at Crooked Creek Park.
